Meet Dennis
Building Claytons Future Together
I have lived in Clayton for 35 years. I came here when it was still Randolph Township. I was attracted to Clayton because of its schools and welcoming people. Debbie and I decided to move to Clayton to raise our family. Both of our boys graduated from Northmont High School. They both played football for Northmont. When they were young, I coached them in pee wee football; little league; soccer; basketball; and was chief of the Indian guides.
In High School I was active in the Northmont Thunderback club and organized and ran their golf outing for a number of years; I also helped coach the High School Mock trial team, with Mindy Craddick, and would often be asked to give presentations to classes about my law practice. I love our community, and the people in it. I want to make sure our City thrives, for everyone.
My Top Three Priorities
1️⃣ Safe & Secure Communities
Clayton is one of the safest cities in Ohio, and I’ll make sure it stays that way.
• Strengthen police and fire staffing
• Advocate for more school officers to protect children
• Support collaborations (like Union & Englewood) that improve response times and save tax dollars

2️⃣ A Responsible Plan for Growth
For 25 years, Clayton hasn’t seen meaningful growth — That has to change.
• Encourage responsible development that shares the tax burden

• Attract investment instead of rejecting it

I love Clayton. I chose to live here and raise my family, over 35 years ago. Over the past couple years our city has been divided over decisions involving development. At times it has become ugly with misleading social media attacking anyone opposing their position. If it continues, we will lose staff. It will become increasing difficult to hire people to work in that type of environment. Our meetings have become unruly. Our reputation has become tarnished. I will listen to all sides to every issue, but as Mayor demand the same respect, we demand our children exercise in their daily lives. The City of Clayton is not the land upon which we built our homes. It is the people that live in those homes. It is those people I will represent. It is those people for whom I will weigh both sides of every issue and do what I think is right for our entire community. I I have a wealth of proven experience, a lifetime record of service, and a commitment to transparency. As Mayor I will listen, lead, and deliver results.
